Michael Iongbloed in the ESDU Belgium Open

belg_openOn April 18th 2009 the ESDU Belgium Open qualification tournament took place at theatre ‘t Eilandje in Antwerp. All the best dance schools from Belgium met each other but only the strongest would continue to participated to the World Dance Masters 2009 in Croatia. The participants could show their creations and talents in a professional setting to an international ESDU-jury.

Also The Dance Factory participated with 36 choreographies. I made some choreographies myself and all of them were selected for Croatia. I also received some “special prices”. One for the highest score for the creation “Pour que tu m’aimes encore” and another for best choreographer for the choreography “Halo”.

Choreographies I danced:

- Clair de Lune (created by Isabelle Beernaert)

- Halo (created by Michael Iongbloed)

- Chicago (created by Isabelle Beernaert)

“Solo” choreographies who were made for me:

- Belgium Champion, 1st place with “Aquila” (created by Isabelle Beernaert)

- Belgium Vice-Champion, 2nd place with “Trading Places” (created by Steeve Laurent)

Choreographies I made:

- Belgium Champion, 1st place with “Libertango”

- Belgium Champion, 1st place with “Shapes & Figures”

- Belgium Champion, 1st place with “Halo”

- Belgium Champion, 1st place with “Les trois Mirlitons”

- Belgium Champion, 1st place with “Pour que tu m’aimes encore”

- Belgium Vice-Champion, 2nd place with “Us against the World”

Special Prices:

- Price for Best choreography “Halo”

- Price for Best Costume “Shapes & Figures”

- Highest score with “Pour que tu m’aimes encore”

- Nominated for best upcoming male dance talent
